Request a Position from Political Candidates

Take every opportunity to make sure your legislators take a stand on common language legislation.

At public meetings, debates, community events and candidate forums, ask those who represent or wish to represent you what their position is on common language legislation.

Call the campaign headquarters and ask what specific stand the candidate is willing to take on common language legislation. Let them know that you want specific and public commitments before you go to the polls.

Share the information you receive with your friends and neighbors. Write a letter to the editor either commending the candidate for supporting official English or criticizing the candidate for short-sightedness and un-American beliefs. Then, feel free to let us know what steps you have taken and what response you receive.
