Voting Results for The S.I. Hayakawa National Language Amendment Act of 2007
On June 6, 2007, the U.S. Senate voted on S. Amdt. 1151, offered by Sen. James Inhofe, to make English the national language of the United States and reduce the entitlement to foreign language services. This amendment passed by a vote of 64-33. Unfortunately, the larger bill to which the amendment was attached was tabled and has not yet passed the Senate.
